Black Diamond Inc. President and CEO Peter Metcalf has been named a Director of the Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco for a three-year term that begins Jan. 1, 2014.
A vocal advocate of conservation, public lands and the outdoor recreation industry, Metcalf will replace Scott Hymas, Chairman, Salt Lake City Branch Board and Chief Executive Officer, R.C. Willey Home Furnishings, Salt Lake City, Utah who retired from the Branch’s Board after serving as a Director since 2007.

Peter Metcalf is Lead Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Black Diamond Inc. a Salt Lake City, Utah based design, manufacturing and marketer of active outdoor performance products for climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, skiing, mountain biking and other active outdoor recreation activities. Prior to joining Black Diamond, Mr. Metcalf served as General Manager of Chouinard Equipment, Patagonia/Lost Arrow Corporation.
A native of New York City, Mr. Metcalf received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Colorado and a Certificate in Management from Drucker Graduate School of Management, Claremont Graduate University.
Active in community affairs, he is currently serving, or has served on corporate advisory and boards of directors, including the Utah Governor’s Wasatch Summit Task Force Executive Committee, Outdoor Industry Association, Outdoor Eco-System Task Force of Utah Governors Leavitt and Huntsman, Utah Nature Conservancy and Utah Economic Development Corporation.
