Sanuk, a division of Deckers Outdoor Corporation, has been nominated for two SIMA Image Awards: Footwear Product of the Year and Women’s Marketing Campaign of the Year.

Footwear Product of the Year

Sanuk’s Yoga Sling Sandal has been nominated for Footwear Product of the Year, which focuses on the most exciting design, appeal and innovation.  In order to be nominated the product had to be from the Spring or Fall 2013 product lines (at retail between January 1, 2013 and September 1, 2013). Additional nominees for this category are; MARCOS Hi by MOVMT, Nohea Mesh by OluKai, Phantom Sandal by Hurley and Surf Siders by Vans.

Women’s Marketing Campaign of the Year

Sanuk’s “Sandals Are For Fun $#!+” creative has been nominated for Women’s Marketing Campaign of the Year! In order to be nominated the campaign needed to be focused on women’s apparel, swimwear, footwear, wetsuit, hardgoods or accessories.. Under consideration were women’s brands that displayed a creative, cohesive and consistent brand message in print, digital and point-of-purchase materials. The campaign must have first appeared in consumer print publications with an on-sale date between January 1, 2013 and September 1, 2013 (approx. the September and October issues of endemic magazines). Additional nominees for this category are; “Colorlove” by Billabong, “DVF loves ROXY” by Roxy, “My Bikini” by Rip Curl and “Wish You Were Here” by L*Space.

Established in 2003, the SIMA Image Awards identifies the surf industry’s most influential companies and recognizes them for their efforts to advance and grow the industry over the past year. Final voting by SIMA member companies and 200 of the nation’s top specialty retailers takes place from November 13th through December 6th at www.simaimageawards.com. The winners will be announced at the SIMA Image Awards ceremony on February 13, 2014, at The Grove in Anaheim, California.  The ceremony is open to the public and tickets will go on sale in January.
