According to Golf Datatech, golf rounds played on a national level were up 1.2 percent in September 2013 compared to September 2012. Public access play was up 2.8 percent and private course activity was down 5.1 percent.

YTD rounds are down 5.2 percent.

There were 3970 contributing golf courses used in the report.

Among regions in September, gains were seen in the Mid-Atlantic, 4.6 percent; East North Central, 5.5 percent; West North Central, 3.4 percent; South Central, 0.4 percent; South Atlantic, 1.1 percent; and New England, 3.1 percent. Declines in September were seen in Mountain, 8.4 percent; and Pacific, 5.2 percent.
