Pensole Footwear Design Academy, based in Portland, OR, announced the launch of a series of professional development courses by the name of Pensole Capsoles. The courses will be held in conjunction with the Two Ten Footwear Foundation and the NW/NE Apparel and Footwear Materials Shows, at locations on the west and east coasts.
Weve established these courses in two of the nations top footwear states-Oregon and Massachusetts-with two highly respected industry partners, Two Ten and the Materials Shows, Pensole founder DWayne Edwards said. Theyre specifically designed to help young footwear professionals become future leaders of the industry.
Pensole Capsoles will each be three days in length and cover topics such as: Materials Design-fundamentals of color, materials and finishes; By Design-leadership, concept development and storytelling; and You Got Briefed!-writing a perfect product brief.
Pensole has partnered with American Events to launch Capsoles days before both the NE and NW Apparel and Materials Shows in Danvers, MA and Portland, OR.

Pensole will also offer one scholarship per Capsole to an individual footwear company to send a designer of its choice to attend a Capsole class. A percentage of the proceeds from each Capsole held at Two Ten will go to support the Two Ten Footwear Foundations design scholarship fund.
