Gearhead Outfitters will open a new location in Shreveport, LA on Nov. 1, 2012. The Arkansas based, family owned and operated shop specializes in outdoor lifestyle clothing and footwear. Gearhead will feature brands such as The North Face, Patagonia, and Merrell.
Gearhead’s expansion in the Mall St. Vincent is part of a $35 million mall renovation project. The new store will employ local residents and owners Ted and Amanda Herget say they are eager to engage in local community life and activities.
Gearhead Outfitters, owned by Ted or Amanda Herget, is known for its relaxed environment, specialized inventory and customer service for those pursuing an active lifestyle. Gearhead offers a wide variety of styles in over 50 brands.
The Hergets said they’re excited about their first Gearhead venture outside Arkansas.
“We are excited to build a relationship with the community of Shreveport,” they said. “We love the personal friendships we develop with our customers, and celebrate their activities as part of an extended family.”
The Hergets started Gearhead in 1997 in a home in Jonesboro, AR. The company currently operates three stores in Jonesboro, including the Cycle House bike shop, and one in Little Rock, AR.
