Life is indeed good for the 60,000 participants in this weekend’s Life is good Festival at Prowse Farm in Canton, Mass. Of the 60,000 viewers, half were remote, tuning into the brand's live webcast at Lifeisgood.com. Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, Sara Bareilles, Michael Franti & Spearhead, and The Fresh Beat Band were among the artists headlining the Festival. Artists performed to sold-out crowds, raising over $1 million to help kids in need through the lifestyle brand's nonprofit, The Life is good Playmakers.

“Good vibes can save lives,” said Bert Jacobs, chief executive optimist for Life is good. “The Festival is an engine for optimism, allowing us to rally a large community of fundraisers around helping kids in need.”

One hundred percent of funds raised and all of Life is good’s net profits from the Festival, including Festival merchandise, will be donated to The Life is good Playmakers. To date, Life is good has raised more than $9 million to benefit the cause.

“The vibe at this festival is unlike any other venue,” said Michael Franti. “It’s people helping people, rallying behind a good cause and choosing optimism over cynicism. When you feel things, you’re moved to action, and that’s what this festival taps into.”

In addition to three stages of well-known musical talent, The Life is good Festival featured hands-on games, pop-up concerts, and visits with local hometown mascots. Others left their mark by contributing to the Art for All Mural, a unique community art project.

The Festival empowered a community of fundraisers to give back through individual initiatives. Fundraisers who raised $500 or more earned the title “Very Good People (VGP)” and received added perks and concert privileges, including private acoustic performances by artists including Katie Herzig and Sara Jarosz, and on-stage concert viewing of some of the top acts in music.

Following the Festival, fans can continue to support the cause and raise money for The Life is good Playmakers by turning what they love to do most into fundraising events for kids, whether it’s Monday night football with friends or holiday bake sales. Individuals interested in fundraising are invited to set up personal fundraising pages at Lifeisgood.com/Fundraise.

The 2012 Life is good Festival was produced in partnership with Superfly Presents, the nationally recognized producers of the iconic Bonnaroo and Outside Lands festivals.
