Austin, Texas-based Backwoods is closing its only store in St. Louis three years after opening it, according to a report by the St. Louis Business Journal.
The store at The Meadows at Lake St. Louis will close Aug. 13. Seven store employees will lose their jobs.
Backwoods will ship merchandise from the St. Louis store to its other eight stores, which are thriving at locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska, according to comments the newspaper attributed to Backwoods CEO Jennifer Mull.
Backwoods specializes in selling apparel for outdoor recreation and adventure travel.
