Dickies reached a new licensing agreement with Cordova, a manufacturer and marketer of personal protective equipment. The first line of Dickies-branded gloves from Cordova is expected to appear at participating retailers for the Fall/Winter 2012 season.
“We look to our licensees to leverage their best-in-class industry expertise to grow the Dickies brand in new categories and territories,” states Matthew McCartin, vice president of marketing for Dickies. “This arrangement with Cordova will definitely accomplish that goal, and we look forward to working with them.”
The agreement is the most recent to be added to the legendary work wear brand's extensive portfolio of licensees, providing consumers with both work wear and work-inspired lines including footwear, belts, socks, medical wear, headwear, sunglasses, kidswear, men's tops, junior girls apparel, bags and luggage; in addition to gloves.
“Cordova strives to provide customers with durable, dependable and high quality personal protective equipment. Dickies shares that mission, and we are honored to work with them,” said Himanshu Varma, President, International Sourcing Co., Inc.
The new collection of Dickies gloves is currently in development. The contract will evolve into personal protective equipment to complement the brand's existing work wear business and meet the changing needs of the modern worker.
