The Whittier College men’s lacrosse team is the latest NCAA Division III program to sign a multi-year equipment deal with Maverik Lacrosse.  The Poets, under the direction of third-year head coach Brian Kelly, are the first and only NCAA sanctioned men’s lacrosse program in Southern California. The Poets will use custom Maverik equipment and practice apparel throughout the 2012 lacrosse season.

“We're extremely excited to become a member of the Maverik team, and are looking forward to representing their brand,” said Coach Kelly.  “It's reassuring as a coach to know that for the foreseeable future we will be working with a company that is committed to developing equipment to the highest standards.   Maverik has proven itself to be an industry leader, and the opportunity to partner with them and use their products was one we couldn’t refuse.”

In 2012, the Poets will wear custom white, purple, black and gold Maverik ROME gloves, shoulder and elbow guards. Maverik will supply the team with the new Spider 1, Flight and Rize heads paired with the Boost, H2 and Wonder Boy shafts.  Maverik Lacrosse will also provide the Poets with additional accessories including socks, chest protectors, and Maverik game balls.

“We are looking forward to working with Coach Kelly and his staff to help them grow their program,” said John Gagliardi, President and founder of Maverik Lacrosse.  “Partnering with Whittier provides Maverik with a great opportunity to showcase our entire line of lacrosse equipment and apparel while supporting our continuous efforts to advance the sport on a national level.”
