Mountain Hardwear named Jimmy Hopper and Laura Schaffer to lead sports marketing and public relations departments for Mountain Hardwear and Montrail.
Hopper joins Mountain Hardwear and Montrail with over a decade of experience in the outdoor industry. His passion for outdoor sports led him to work previously at Teva, Keen and The North Face in several areas of the business including sales, marketing and product.
Schaffer comes to Mountain Hardwear and Montrail with a strong background in media relations and sustainability strategy, as well as a passion for playing outdoors. She filled nine years in Utah with time on the sales floor at REI, in the publications department of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and as the public relations director at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort. Laura is relocating to Mountain Hardwear and Montrail from Ithaca, NY, where she received an MBA with a concentration in Sustainable Enterprise from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Business. As public relations manager, Laura will work with members of the media to share the inspiring stories of Mountain Hardwear and Montrail athletes and the products they use. As the Gives Back program manager, Laura will head up efforts to align with organizations and initiatives that support the great outdoors.
Hopper and Schaffer will be based at Mountain Hardwear’s Richmond, CA headquarters and report directly to Joe Flannery.
