Payless ShoeSource, Inc. reported that same-store sales decreased 0.7 percent during the December reporting period, the five weeks ended January 4, 2003. Company sales totaled $292.0 million, a 1.4 percent increase from $287.9 million during December 2001.
Total sales for the first eleven months of fiscal 2002 were $2.74 billion, a 1.4 percent decrease from $2.78 billion during the similar period in fiscal 2001.
Same-store sales decreased 3.4 percent during the first eleven months of the fiscal year.
