Woolrich and n3twork Sport and Performance Design of Frankfurt, Germany and Boulder, Co. will collaborate on the development of a technical outdoor collection to be marketed globally. The collection, to be introduced in the fall of 2013, will include outerwear, sportswear and accessories.
“To create a technical collection that appeals to consumers globally can be very challenging, but the Woolrich brand transcends international taste lines as few brands can,” said Dennis Hinze, n3twork creative director. “Woolrich is a powerful brand with a storied heritage and we’re proud to have the opportunity to be a part of its future.”
N3twork, founded in 1997 by Dennis Hinze, is an internationally recognized design agency for sport and performance apparel. N3twork has gained industry notoriety and numerous awards for its innovative designs including the first and only apparel design to win the `Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, known as the “prize of prizes.” In 2009 Peter Valles joined n3twork from Spyder, where he was creative director, to launch and become creative director of n3twork USA. Prior to Spyder, Valles had been a senior advanced designer at Nike and a senior concept designer at Abercrombie & Fitch.
N3twork provides a full range of design services from individual design projects to full creative direction. The agency has worked with such brands as Under Armour, The North Face, Helly Hansen, Lululemon, Spyder, Salomon, Adidas, Merrell, Bogner, North Sails, Falke and Vaude. n3twork also designed and developed the technical and sportswear apparel for Team Alinghi, the two time defender of the America’s Cup and created the Red Bull Athletes Collection for all of the brand’s athletes.
“As a global brand it’s vital that our designs appeal to a broad populace while holding on to its core values,” said Brian Mangione, Woolrich executive vice president. “With Dennis in Europe and Peter in the US, n3twork brings an invaluable global perspective to the collaboration.”
Globally, the Woolrich brand is marketed by Woolrich and its licensing partners. The company’s core apparel business is marketed under five distinct collections consisting of the Woolrich Outdoor Collection, Woolrich John Rich and Bros., Woolrich Woolen Mills, Woolrich Penn Rich, and Woolrich Elite Tactical Series.
