The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) has named Larry Clark as Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors. An avid conservationist, fisherman and upland bird hunter, Clark, a New York City resident, is a Life Sponsor of the organization and was recently recognized as a Gullion Circle Member.

“Given his strong financial background, Larry will be an asset in helping RGS reach its strategic objectives. I and the other board members welcome him in his new leadership role on the Board and look forward to working with him in the coming years, said RGS President and CEO Mike Zagata.

Held at the Sawmill Inn Hotel and Convention Center in Grand Rapids MN, the Oct. 16th meeting followed the conservation organization's 49th annual National Grouse and Woodcock Hunt – a two-day event that includes dog-training seminars, shooting clinics, auctions, banquets and hunting competition, where participants flushed up to 45 grouse and the same number of woodcock a day.

That same weekend, the Board announced plans of an expanded partnership with CONSOL Energy – an energy company headquartered outside Pittsburgh – inasmuch as it will begin a habitat management pilot project on a 7,500 acre parcel that is within easy driving distance of downtown Pittsburgh, and will be open for public hunting, hiking and bird watching.
