GSI Commerce Inc. will hold a grand-opening ceremony on Monday, Oct. 11, for a new Louisville facility. The new facility will specialize in the customization of sports
apparel such as jerseys, T-shirts, and fleecewear, according to a news
release.

The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the facility, located at 9205 National Turnpike.

Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear, Louisville Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson, GSI executive vice president of global operation Bob Wuesthoff and former Cincinnati Bengals lineman Anthony Muñoz, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, are scheduled to speak at the event.

GSI Commerce already has operations at Jefferson Riverport International in Southwest Louisville and in Shepherdsville and Richwood, KY.

King of Prussia, Pa.-based GSI Commerce employs about 3,000 permanent and temporary workers in Kentucky. About 1,500 of those jobs are in the Louisville area, according to the release.
