NSSF, the Firearm Industry Trade Association, has appointed Brandon Maddox, founder and CEO of Silencer Central and Banish Suppressors, to the NSSF Board of Governors. The trade association said “Maddox brings a unique blend of business leadership, regulatory expertise and passionate advocacy for the shooting sports to his new role on the board.”

Maddox founded Silencer Central in 2005 to simplify the purchasing process for silencers for sportsmen and firearm enthusiasts. Today, the Sioux Falls, SD-based company is one of the nation’s largest silencer dealers, serving customers in 42 states where suppressors are legal.

“I am deeply honored to accept the appointment to the NSSF Board of Governors,” said Maddox. “The NSSF plays a pivotal role in defending our 2nd Amendment rights and supporting companies within the firearms industry. As someone who has led from the front and actively worked to improve the buying process and regulatory landscape for suppressors, I can attest to what a great resource and partner NSSF can be for entrepreneurs like myself. That’s why I see this appointment as an opportunity, and responsibility, to continue working for the good of firearm and suppressor owners, and to protect and expand our nation’s shooting and hunting heritage.”

A staunch Second Amendment advocate and lifelong hunter, Maddox is also the founder of the South Dakota Firearms Industry Association. He has testified before state legislatures on firearm policy, championing reforms that protect shooting sports and expand access for responsible firearm owners.

“Brandon brings deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape and a passion for protecting the rights of sportsmen and women,” said Joe Bartozzi, president and CEO of the NSSF. “His entrepreneurial leadership and commitment to our industry’s growth will be valuable assets to the Board of Governors.”

The NSSF appointed Maddox to its Board of Governors during the NSSF’s recent mid-year meeting.
