Holt Renfrew, the Canadian luxury department store chain, announced that Sebastian Picardo plans to step down as president and CEO, effective September 30, 2025. He has served in the role since 2020.

The retailer said that Picardo decided to return to Europe “to be closer to family and pursue other opportunities.”

Before joining Holt Renfrew, Picardo served as deputy president and COO of Lane Crawford, a luxury department store based in Hong Kong.  He also held leadership roles at Burberry, Net-a-Porter, Alexander McQueen, and Deloitte.

The retailer noted in a media release that an “active global search is underway for our new president and CEO, with final candidates being reviewed.”

Holt Renfrew operates six locations in Canada, including its flagship store on Bloor Street West in Toronto.
