Firearms manufacturer Kimber has promoted Scott Moore to chief operations officer. Moore recently returned to Kimber after a brief stint at E-One, a firetruck apparatus manufacturer with multiple locations nationwide. Before his return, Moore served seven years as the vice president of operations for Kimber.
Kimber said Moore led the company’s transition of its headquarters from Yonkers, NY, to Troy, AL. Moore also has experience in the realm of lean manufacturing with decades spent at John Deere, Case New Holland and Whirlpool manufacturing.
Moore said, “My mission at Kimber is to deliver the best Kimber firearms to the consumer base in a safe and quality manner. We have a phenomenal team capable of great products. Together we are going to grow ambitiously and provide compelling new introductions with a lead with speed mentality. We are reimagining the Kimber DNA by elevating performance, reliability, and what it means to produce not only the best 1911s in the world, but with guns like the 2K11 — the best handguns in the world.”
Dennis Dougherty, board advisor, stated, “Scott’s promotion is exciting for Kimber. His return and elevation to Chief Operations Officer is a natural fit as Kimber anchors operations in Troy. We look forward to his lean engineering expertise crafting a sharp new edge to our manufacturing as Kimber enters the fall season and beyond.”
