Adidas confirmed in a short statement that Max Staiger has joined the company on April 7 as global GM of basketball.
Staiger comes to the position from the Puma Group after serving 12 years with the company.
Staiger’s most recent role at Puma was also as global GM of basketball from 2021 to 2025. He also held the roles of global head of basketball (2018-2021) and global brand and corporate strategy.
Staiger replaces Eric Wise, who stepped down from Adidas in February after leading the company’s basketball category for four years.
