Varsity Brands, parent of the BSN Sports and Varsity Spirit team sports brands, has secured a strategic investment from Patricof Co (P/Co), the New York-based private investment platform for elite professional athletes. This investment underscores P/Co’s commitment to “partnering with companies transforming the landscape of sports and community engagement.”
“We are excited to join forces with Patricof Co,” said Adam Blumenfeld, CEO of Varsity Brands. “With P/Co’s consumer insights and the support of world-class athletes who share our passion for sport and spirit, we’re poised to accelerate our growth and elevate the team experience at every level of play. More importantly, we see this as an opportunity to co-create meaningful programs where these athletes can engage directly in the field of play — whether in schools, colleges, and clubs, through digital and in-person initiatives, or in collaborative marketing efforts.”
Over 45 of P/Co’s global athlete clientele, representing all major U.S. sports, have invested in Varsity Brands, including:
- Livvy Dunne, NCAA Gymnast, Louisiana State University;
- Cameron Brink, Los Angeles Sparks, WNBA;
- Derrick White, Boston Celtics, NBA, and Olympic gold medalist;
- Azzi Fudd, Guard, UConn women’s basketball team;
- Kyle Hamilton, two-time Pro Bowl safety, Baltimore Ravens; and
- Justin Jefferson, four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, Minnesota Vikings.
Varsity Brands said it continues its mission to deliver an integrated platform that offers customized uniforms, performance apparel, team equipment, training and educational resources, competitions, and branding solutions for school, club and gym-based athletic programs.
“Partnering with Varsity Brands aligns perfectly with our strategy to invest in visionary companies led by passionate teams,” said Callen Morris, head of athlete activation, P/Co. “We look forward to leveraging our expertise and the influential power of our athlete network to support Varsity Brands’ mission as they continue to set new benchmarks in sport and spirit solutions.”
