Black Diamond Equipment has voluntarily recalled its Vision Harness due to the premature degradation of its specialized materials and construction, causing a risk of serious injury or death. Consumers who own the Black Diamond Vision harness should immediately stop using the equipment and follow the recall procedures here.

Black Diamond has received one report of a well-used waist belt failing, with no reports of injuries or fatalities. While the cause remains under investigation, the company has recalled the equipment as a cautionary measure.

Black Diamond has notified the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada.

This recall applies to Black Diamond Vision harnesses (all sizes) manufactured and sold between January 1, 2018, and February 27, 2025, Style No. BD651096, SKU No. BD651096WHIT[XXXX] (size).

This recall does not include the Vision AirNet Recco or any other Black Diamond harnesses.

Consumers should stop using the harness and return it to Black Diamond with no charge for shipping. Once received, customers have two options: a one-time-use $200.00 credit (or equivalent in local currency) to blackdiamondequipment.com or a Black Diamond retail store, or a full refund.

Consumers should go here to begin the recall process. For questions about this Vision harness recall, consumers can also contact Black Diamond at 866.306.0865, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. MT, or email VisionHarnessRecall@bdel.com.
