Fin Feather Fur Outfitters, an Ohio-based outdoor, fishing and hunting specialty retailer, has acquired MVD Sports and Specialties, a silk screening and embroidery operation for sports teams, charities and corporate wear, headquartered in Ashland, OH.

“We are excited about the possibilities that this acquisition brings to Fin and our valued employees and customers,” said Rees Vail, vice president of Fin Feather Fur. “By combining our strengths and expertise, we are well-positioned to reach new audiences, providing them quality service and products.”

MVD Sports and Specialties, founded in 1974 by Mike and Kathy Van Dine, will continue to operate under its nameplate and retain its employees. Mike will remain involved in the business.

“While the decision to sell the business was the right move, I am not ready to retire; this has been a hard decision,” said Mike Van Dine. “I will miss the employees and our customers. I am proud of the accomplishments we have made and the hard work we put into making this a great business. MVD Sports and its employees have created a business that focuses on the communities, schools and corporations they serve.”

Van Dine expressed confidence in the future of the business under the new ownership. “Selling our business to the Fin and Mike Goschinski is a good move,” he said in a local report.Knowing the love and commitment Mike and the Fin family have for their communities, we know that they will continue to improve and grow this business in the coming years.”
