Gymshark has opened its first permanent store outside the UK in the Dubai Mall. The 4300-square-foot space follows its UAE debut last year when the UK-based retailer opened a pop-up store in the Mall of the Emirates.

The British athletic apparel brand also has a pop-up shop in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood that opened in November 2024, timed for the holiday season. The store will close at the end of January. The company opened the store to create brand buzz for its first U.S. permanent flagship store in the Big Apple, which it plans to open later this year.

Gymshark also plans to open a third permanent store in Westfield London in early 2025, adding to its UK store count at Westfield Stratford, which opened in July 2024 and its Regent Street flagship, which opened in October 2022.

Plans also exist for Gymshark to open a store at The Kalverstraat in Amsterdam in spring 2025 and the Trafford Centre in Manchester in the summer.

The Dubai store opening follows the launch of local e-commerce services in the region, including a dual-language site and app and faster shipping times with same-day delivery.

The Dubai store carries Gymshark’s Tectonic, Heritage, Power, and Running collections for men. It also offers Dubai Mall exclusives, including t-shirts and short’s destination area. For women, the store carries Gymshark’s Vital line, has dedicated areas for leggings and sports bras, and, exclusive to the store, a modest activewear range in collaboration with Muslim fitness content creator Leana Deeb.

Hannah Mercer, GM of Wholesale and Retail at Gymshark, said, “Opening the doors to our first permanent store outside the UK is a huge step in our omnichannel strategy. The team has done such a good job getting us to this stage, and I can’t wait to see where we go next.”

The new Dubai store is located on the mall’s ground floor, close to the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.

The Dubai Mall is the second largest mall in the world by total land area, and over 54 million shoppers visit the center every year.
