Golf technology company Shot Scope, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland, announces that Lord Mervyn Davies, a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), is Chairman of the Board.

Lord Davies of Abersoch, Wales, was formerly chief executive and chairman of Standard Chartered and was awarded a CBE in 2002 for his services to the financial sector. He is currently the chairman of the Lawn Tennis Association, LetterOne and sits on the World Rugby Executive Committee.

Lord Davies expressed his support for Shot Scope as it scales and grows the organization. “I am excited to join Shot Scope as chairman of the Board. Our innovative products are sold in more than 160 countries and stocked by leading golf and sports retailers worldwide. I look forward to working with the team and shareholders to deliver our ambitious international growth plans and establish Shot Scope as a global brand within golf.”

This announcement comes after a successful round of Series B funding worth $8.5 million, new additions to the management team, sales department, and support staff, and moving the company into larger headquarters on the outskirts of Edinburgh to accommodate its growing workforce and business needs.

CEO David Hunter commented on the appointment, “We are delighted to welcome Lord Davies to the Board. His wealth of experience growing global brands and passion for sport and entrepreneurship is a perfect fit as we expand our brand globally.”

Shot Scope continues establishing itself as a global golf brand, particularly in the U.S. and Canada, with its rangefinders, GPS watches and performance-tracking technology. Today, the company reports 300,000 consumers globally use Shot Scope devices, with half of the Scottish company’s users residing in America. Alongside expansion into more retail locations and a heavier marketing presence in the U.S. and Canada starting in 2025, Shot Scope is focused on becoming a “household name” in on-course yardage technology and shot tracking analysis.

Shot Scope products are readily available across the UK and Europe.
