Akaso has tapped outdoor industry veteran and sales consultant Eric Squires as director of sales for the U.S., overseeing all wholesale, professional and direct sales of the company’s action cameras, Seemor night vision goggles and accessories.

Squires appointment is effective immediately.

“As Akaso continues to evolve its premium product offering within the outdoor, snowsports, and action sports marketplaces, we sought qualified partners that will help us establish a real presence of innovation and authenticity and to help foster our development into new spaces,” said Libby Yao, director of brand marketing, Akaso. “After a thorough review of agencies large and small, we feel that we’ve found two great partners that can best serve us where we are today and where we’re headed in the future.”

“Results driven, with extensive experience in B2B sales and sales management, Eric Squires brings over 25 years of experience in the outdoor industry to manage the sales effort for Akaso,” the company said in a media release.

Squires has been a sales contractor since 2017 after a short stint at Fast-food, an entrance fuel product. Previously, he was the director of sales for Medterra, a CBD brand, for three years, where he launched the Specialty Retail Channel for Outdoor, Run, Golf, Bike, Water, and Power Sports, “opening 950 doors in ten months.” Before that, he was with 360 fly for a short period after four years at MJM Associates as a sales manager and Indie sales rep. Before this, Squires had his most extended gig as director of sales for Light & Motion, where he built an outside sales force to grow the brand’s presence at Independent Bicycle Dealers to over 2,000 doors. According to his LinkedIn profile, he served in that role for over 16 years.
