OluKai announced it will open its first East Coast store at Disney Springs, FL, today, November 22.

“There is a natural connection between Hawaii’s island lifestyle and Florida’s vibrant coastal culture; moreover, Disney Springs’ entertainment-led shopping destination provides great context for OluKai’s authentic storytelling and high-integrity product line,” remarked OluKai CMO Kerry Konrady.

Disney Springs is OluKai’s tenth retail store and twenty-first in its brand portfolio. The company noted in a media release that “Disney Springs signifies a national approach to Archipelago Companies’ (OluKai, Melin and Roark) retail expansion, as it continues to partner with prime retail streets and centers.”

The Disney Springs store will carry a curated assortment of OluKai active and island-inspired footwear.

The space, named Wai Ho’ ohui or Connected Through Water, “reflects on the importance of natural water resources connecting our communities to an active, healthy and adventurous lifestyle.”

The retail space includes geometric patterns by local fine artist Ya La’ford representing springs and the interconnectedness of water sources—”an homage to the ancient Floridan Aquifer, which symbolizes inspiration and imagination. As in Hawai’i, these intricate designs celebrate water’s immeasurable role in supporting a vigorous, vibrant life.”

“We’re capturing the sense of water emerging naturally from the ground,” said Matt Lindauer, SVP of Creative for OluKai. “The space celebrates both water sources and the important cultural and ecological ties between Hawai’i and Florida. The flowing, unifying nature of water reminds us that we’re all connected.”
