HealthFitness acquired Corporate Fitness Works, which manages 70 corporate fitness centers across 23 states. Post-acquisition, HealthFitness supports over 200 corporate clients at over 360 sites nationwide.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We have admired and respected Corporate Fitness Works as a strong competitor for many years,” said Sean McManamy, president at HealthFitness, owned by Trustmark. “This brings together two industry leaders with strong capabilities, a wealth of experience and talent, and a shared commitment to offer innovative solutions to clients and build community and connection among members.”
Trustmark CEO Kevin Slawin noted that the acquisition advances Trustmark’s growth strategy. “In HealthFitness, we continue to execute our strategy to grow both organically and inorganically,” he said. “This is a great fit, from both cultural and business perspectives. We’re very excited about the broader range of services we’ll bring to the market through this combination.”
HealthFitness acquired Corporate Fitness Works from Co-owners Beth and Michael Vivio, “We are pleased to have CFW join HealthFitness,” said Beth Vivio. “CFW has roots dating back over 36 years, and the combination of CFW and HealthFitness ensures a bright future for what we’ve helped build, one that aligns with our mission to serve the unique needs of working populations.”
“Our choice to sell Corporate Fitness Works to HealthFitness is a direct result of the company culture and reputation they enjoy,” added Michael Vivio, CEO of CFW. “Our employees will be in good hands.”
The purchase of Corporate Fitness Works follows two prior acquisitions by HealthFitness: the 2021 acquisition of Midtown Health and the addition of Professional Fitness Management, LLC (ProFIT) earlier this year.
“I’m pleased to welcome our newest associates from Corporate Fitness Works,” said McManamy. “In addition, CFW clients can expect a seamless transition, with continued support from people they know and trust, now backed by the additional resources of HealthFitness.”
