Chamonix blackcrows, the iconic French ski brand renowned for its design-driven high-performance ski products and apparel, announces the highly anticipated release of the latest iteration of its iconic Corvus ski, reimagined for the 2024-25 season. Originally launched in winter 2007-08 as the first ski in the blackcrows lineup, the fifth generation of the  Corvus retains its vigorous flex while adopting modern design features to enhance versatility and sustainability.

To celebrate the launch, a series of Corvus events will be hosted across key cities, alongside the opening of new pop-up stores in collaboration with Rapha clubhouses in Boulder and Seattle. These locations mark the first brand stores in the U.S. for blackcrows, representing a significant milestone for the brand with the first chance to experience the full product line in the flesh on this side of the Atlantic. Blackcrows founders and ambassadors will be in attendance. Additionally, a pop-up store will open in a fresh location in Paris, alongside other pop-up stores in other European locations including Chamonix and Meribel, where skiers get to be hands-on with the latest gear, including skis, apparel, and accessories, and immerse themselves in the blackcrows experience.

There will be limited Ski Sauvage events in select locations across the country organized to honor the legacy of the Corvus. Participants will be able to connect with the blackcrows community to celebrate and demo the new ski at Les Grand Montes on January 2-3.  Les Grand Montes is where everything started for blackcrows and is a place of celebration for the brand, Corvus and its founders.

The Corvus, the foundational product of the blackcrows brand, has been reconceptualized for the modern freerider while maintaining roots in high-performance big mountain skiing. Featuring a double rocker, classic camber, and a slight pintail for enhanced pivot and control, the 2024-25 Corvus is designed to excel across all snow conditions, from deep powder to slush bumps. Additionally, the updated Corvus is part of blackcrows’ commitment to reducing its environmental impact. The new model is crafted with a thicker wood core, recycled ABS sidewalls and edges, and a TPU top sheet that cuts the environmental footprint of the ski in half.

“The Corvus has always been a representation of the diverse terrain of Chamonix,” says Camille Jaccoux, co-founder of blackcrows. “In this latest version, the ski has been modernized to be more playful and maneuverable, while staying true to its roots as the ultimate tool for high-speed stability and control across all snow types.”

With a 110mm waist, 25m turning radius, and a progressive rocker profile, the Corvus remains the quintessential ski for big terrain and freeriding enthusiasts. Its robust flex allows skiers to navigate narrow passages and accelerate in open spaces, while the ski’s design ensures greater control and comfort.
