Modern America Campgrounds, the largest RV park owner in the Northeast, with a portfolio of 28 campgrounds across the region, announced its acquisition of Thomas Point Beach & Campground in Brunswick, ME. This marks the company’s 28th RV park acquisition in the last 24 months.

Thomas Point Beach was started in 1956 by Harry and Marion Crooker. The 80-acre Oceanside Park was owned and operated by the family until it was sold. Modern America was selected to purchase the property because it intends to carry on its legacy.

Modern America plans to upgrade the property and open the park by mid-May 2025.

“We are thrilled to welcome Thomas Point Beach to the Modern America Campgrounds family,” said Hunter Vazza. “It is an amazing property, and this acquisition aligns with our strategic growth plan and allows us to offer even more diverse camping options to our guests.”

Modern America Campgrounds has recently introduced several programs to enhance the camping experience for seasonal members and transient guests. Seasonal pass members can access other Modern America Campgrounds on a limited basis at no charge. The company also launched the Freedom Trail Pass, granting campers access to all Modern America Campgrounds with minimal restrictions during peak season.

With the acquisition of Thomas Point Beach, Modern America Campgrounds will expand its portfolio to 33 parks by the beginning of next season. Five additional acquisitions are in the pipeline across the Northeast.
