Swiss running brand On opened flagship stores in Chicago and New York City, bringing its store count in North America to eight.

Its first store globally opened in the SoHo section of New York City in 2020.

On’s newest flagship in New York City is located in the Flatiron district and measures 4,596 square feet, its largest store ever. Housed in a registered 1930s landmark building, On preserved original architectural elements — such as columns and moldings — while integrating modern, Swiss-inspired features. Expansive windows offer prime visibility and storytelling opportunities while nature-inspired details inside reflect the urban environment familiar to local runners.

In Chicago, On’s store on Rush Street measures 4,553 square feet with the store opening in time for the Chicago Marathon. The store’s design pays homage to Chicago’s industrial and design history through its open gray ceiling, colorful walls and wood accents, inspired by the city’s iconic bridges.

“These flagship stores are a testament to On’s growth in the Americas, and we couldn’t be more excited to expand our brand presence in two iconic cities,” said Dan Schade, general manager of On Americas. “These spaces are more than just stores—they’re where the full expression of the On brand comes to life, embodying everything we stand for premium design, high performance and sustainability, tailored to meet the needs of our customers and foster community in each market.”

On also opened a traditional store last month in Austin. On’s other U.S. stores include two other locations in New York City in SoHo and Brooklyn’s Williamsburg section, as well as stores in Los Angeles, Miami, and Portland.  In Europe, it has stores in Paris, Zürich, London, Berlin and Milan.
