Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises acquired Loop Tackle, the maker of fly-fishing equipment known for its commitment to the conservation of wild fish populations

Since 2007, Cox has invested more than $2 billion in sustainable businesses and technologies, and the acquisition is part of Cox’s commitment to growing the company while continuing to contribute to positive environmental change. The acquisition is expected to better position Loop Tackle to expand its offerings of sustainable products to customers.

Loop Tackle was founded in Sweden in 1979 by Christer Sjöberg and Tony Karpestam.

“Loop’s brand is synonymous with conservation,” said Alex Taylor, chairman and CEO of Cox Enterprises. “They’ve been the top name across the North Atlantic for many years in making the best technical gear for fly-fishing and connecting with those sometimes cold, wet, wild habitats. We hope to build on that ethos to foster a company that makes great gear and, in the process, leaves the world in a better place for the next generation.”
