Jones Snowboards has expanded its Re-Up recycling program, which the company launched in 2023, to include snowboard trade-in and resale.
Jones will recycle dead snowboards of any model or brand through the program, with “95 percent of the materials used to make new Jones boards. The company reported in a media release that since launching the program, it has “recycled over 3000 retired boards collected from riders, dealers and resorts.”
Jones will build on the program this fall by introducing a full-service trade-in and resale program. The expanded program will fill the gap between recycling a dead board and buying a new one, offering snowboarders the option to trade in for credit on a new board or buy used rideable boards,
Snowboarders who trade in used Jones boards will receive a credit to purchase a new one from Jones, including free shipping to ship the board to Geartrade for rehab. The board’s age, condition and model determine the credit amount reimbursed. Boards received that are too damaged to resell will also receive a lesser credit and be recycled through the program.
Jones’ Re-Up program is open to U.S. customers. The company’s international dealer and distributor network will continue to offer snowboarders based outside the U.S. the opportunity to recycle dead snowboards within the company’s broader Re-Up recycling program.
