Chattanooga, TN-based Rock/Creek Outfitters announced it rebranded to Gearhead Outfitters, which it acquired in 2019.
In 2018, Rock/Creek Outfitters, which has five stores, was sold to Uncle Dan’s Outfitters, a subsidiary of Camping World Holdings, Inc., before being acquired by Gearhead Outfitters a year later.
The Rock/Creek Outfitters banner has three stores in Chattanooga and stores in Cleveland, TN, and Benton, TN.
Founded in 1997 in Jonesboro, AR by Ted Herget, Gearhead Outfitters has 22 locations, including the Rock/Creek Outfitter locations, in Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Colorado.
“From the moment that our team visited Chattanooga and got to meet the Rock/Creek team, we knew that these were our kind of people,” Gearhead Outfitters Founder Ted Herget said in a video posted on the Gearhead Outfitters website. “Chattanooga has so much to offer in terms of outdoor recreation, and the population is incredibly diverse.”
