Following a series of uncanny proceedings, golfer Tiger Woods is expected to make his 2010 debut at the Masters Championship next month at Augusta National in Augusta, GA.
The four-month self-imposed hiatus culminates a series of promotional considerations and sponsorships which suffered over the passing months. Accordingly, several of his sponsors including Accenture, Gatorade and AT&T dropped Woods name from ad campaigns, while companies such as Nike and Electronic Arts stayed supportive of what may be their most successful asset.
However, for the first time in the history of Tiger Woods branded game release, Electronic Arts will feature another golfer alongside Woods; 20 year-old Rory Mcllory will accompany Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011.
“The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like Im ready to start my season at Augusta,” Woods said in a statement. Interestingly enough, the only player to ever debut at Augusta and win was Ben Hogan in 51 and 53. Woods hopes to join Hogan as the second.
