Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit has appointed Miguel Avello as the division manager of marine product management.
In his new role, Avello leads the company’s Product Management Division, providing strategic direction and oversight of the marine product planning functions, reporting directly to Andrea Tetto, director of marine planning, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit.
The company said in a media release that Avello will also work closely with market intelligence, R&D, new product development, product integration, product introduction, and product launch teams.
“Miguel has a wealth of knowledge in product development and strategic planning, which will be valuable to the Yamaha team,” said Tetto. “His leadership will also help drive innovation and ensure our premium marine products continue to lead the market.”
Before joining Yamaha, Avello was the director of engineering and product development for Whirlpool Corp., overseeing the planning, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects. He also led the strategic planning and coordination between various engineering disciplines and business functions, including marketing, consumer design, finance, manufacturing, engineering and procurement, incorporating strategic architectural principles to meet both current and future needs.
Yamaha’s U.S. Marine Business Unit, based in Kennesaw, Ga., is responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of Yamaha Marine products in the U.S., including Yamaha Outboards, Yamaha WaveRunners, Yamaha Boats, G3 Boats, and Skeeter Boats.
