The Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) has appointed Cassie Elrod as its new program and administrative director. ORR said Elrod has a wealth of experience in outdoor recreation and policy, legal expertise and is passionate about sustainability.
As program and administrative director, Elrod will work across ORR’s program areas, overseeing operations, communications, policy, programs, and events. She will coordinate ORR members and industry stakeholders to educate Congress, federal agencies, and state governments on policies to enhance outdoor recreation experiences for outdoor enthusiasts.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Cassandra to the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable. Her unique blend of legal expertise, project management skills and passion for the outdoors will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for policies that enhance outdoor recreation opportunities across the nation. We look forward to the fresh insights and innovative approaches she will bring to our organization,” said ORR President Jessica Wahl Turner.
Elrod joined ORR from Outside Interactive, Inc., where she was commercial counsel and played a “pivotal role in project management and legal support” for its inaugural Outside Festival in June 2024. Her experience in the outdoor recreation industry includes “providing legal risk analysis and business expertise across various business streams, negotiating commercial agreements and managing the intellectual property portfolio for over ten brands,” ORR said in a media release.
Elrod holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and is pursuing a Masters in the Outdoor Recreation Economy from the University of Colorado Boulder, focusing on leading a sustainable business and public lands and natural resources policy.
