Teton County Commissions voted last week to approve a $7,075 contract to design a boulder park in downtown Jackson, WY, the Jackson Hole Daily reported.

The Teton Boulder Project is a grass-roots partnership between the Town of Jackson, Teton County Parks and Recreation Department and the Teton climbing community. The project, which is being administered under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, will create a park at the base of Snow King in downtown Jackson that honors the history of Teton climbing, commemorates departed Jackson Hole climbers, and provides unique climbing opportunities for children, families and climbers of all levels.

On Jan. 15, the project received a $75,000 grant from the Teton County Recreation District. The money will be administered under the auspices of the Teton County School District. The project is seeking $150,000 in total funding.
