Nordstrom Inc.plans to open two new Rack discount stores next year; one in Charlotte, N.C., and the other in Redondo Beach, Calif.
The Charlotte location will open in spring 2011 at the Caroline Pavilion shopping center and will be the first location in that city. It will be the second discount Rack store in the state after the first one opens in Durham, N.C. on Sept. 2. Nordstrom also operates two full-line stores in North Carolina – in Charlotte and in Durham.
The Redondo Beach location will open in fall 2011 at the South Bay Center next to the South Bay Galleria mall, where Nordstrom has operated a full-line store since 1985. Another Rack location will open in the greater Orange County/Los Angeles area in October in Lakewood, Calif.
Nordstrom currently operates 112 full-line stores and 69 Rack stores.
