Hunter, known for its rubber boots, plans to open a 270-square foot store in New Yorks Limelight Marketplace in March, its first retail location in the U.S. The landmark building on the northeast corner of Sixth Avenue and 20th
Street is being converted into as a shopping
mall.
“Hunter is an iconic brand that has embraced the 21st century, welcoming a wide-range of customers, said Hunter Boot USA President Wendy Svarre in a statement. “We are excited to participate in this innovative retail venue, which allows us the opportunity to directly connect with our customers in our own retail space for the first time in the U.S.”
The Limelight Marketplace is intended to mimic a European street with elaborately designed storefronts. Other tenants at the three-story shopping venue so far include Therapie New York, an apothecary run by Boyds of Madison Avenue; Selima Optique; Le Sportsac; Silly Souls baby clothing and shoes, Book Smart, and Brocade Home.
