Prime Day, Amazon’s annual deal event, will be held from July 16-17. As in previous years, the sale will span two days, offering a plethora of exclusive deals for Prime members. The event also features lightning deals with limited availability, invitation-only offers and some deals that are exclusive to one of the two days.

The first Prime Day was held on July 15, 2015, to celebrate Prime members and Amazon’s 20th Anniversary. According to Statista, Prime Day sales globally reached $12.9 billion in 2023, up from $12 billion in 2022.

“Prime Day is a celebration of the value we bring to members all year long, and features millions of deals across more than 35 product categories as well as discounts on Amazon devices, quality entertainment, groceries, travel, and more during the event,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.

“In fact, over the course of last year, Amazon customers saved nearly $24 billion from deals and coupons—with Prime members enjoying the vast majority of those savings—including over $2.5 billion during Prime Day 2023,” offered Ghani.
