According to Golf Datatech, rounds for the US were up 15.8% in November versus the year-ago month. In November 2008, rounds were down 6.7% from 2007. On a YTD basis so far in 2009, rounds are down -0.2% from 2008.

Public Access play was up 17.6% for the month and up 0.1% YTD. Private course activity was up 10.7% for November and down -1.3% YTD. A total of 3670 courses are represented in this report.

By region, big spikes were seen in West North Central, surging 70.4%; East North Central, vaulting 69.9%; Mid-Atlantic, rising 50.4%; New England, up 38.8; and South Central, ahead 9.7%. Rounds grew 4.2% in the South Atlantic region and 0.4% in Mountain. The only declining region was the Pacific, down 1%.
