Golfzon Range by Leadbetter opened its doors in Westbury, Long Island, NY. The indoor golf training and practice facility, anchored by Golfzon’s golf simulators, features golf pros trained by instructor David Leadbetter.
The new facility at 655 Merrick Avenue in Westbury, NY, is under the direction of Rich McDonough, long-time Long Island golf insider, who, most recently, was head golf pro at Marine Park Golf Course.
Players who come to Golfzon Range by Leadbetter learn, practice or refine their game using 18 Golfzon Driving Range (GDR+) simulators, a Puttview interactive slopped putting green or via private or group instruction from Leadbetter-accredited instructors. There are over 200 courses available on the Golfzon simulators.
Golfzon Range by Leadbetter locations offer membership tiers combining instruction and unrestricted range time. The indoor facilities encourage year-round, all-day opportunities for practice. Other services include private lessons, swing analysis, group classes, tournaments, competitions, special programs for juniors, women and seniors, and summer camps.
McDonough’s on-site team includes full-time coach and certified Leadbetter instructor James McElhatton; Mario Calmi, 30-plus year Leadbetter disciple and local coach Bob Posillico, who hangs his hat at Eisenhower Park Golf Course.
“We’ve assembled a seasoned, skilled team to open our second Golfzon Range by Leadbetter and are eager to welcome golfers from Long Island to our new golf training center,” said Benedict Riches, CEO of Golfzon Leadbetter. “Our first location (in Little Ferry, NJ) has demonstrated how much golfers can improve, especially beginners, and verifies that our methodologies and technologies are making a difference.”
The facility will host a grand opening on April 17. Westbury joins the first Golfzon Range, operating in Little Ferry, NJ, since 2022.
