Jan 30, 2024 – Dakine is announcing a new snow industry initiative in partnership with Gore-Tex, called Gloves For Gloves. The project began in 2023, with over 2,000 pairs of gloves donated to those in need living in the cold regions near the events, and Dakine plans to expand the program into Canada and Europe this year and globally by 2025.
“People and trust are at the core of Dakine. Gloves for Gloves is a natural way for the brand to do what’s right and partner with people that have a need.” –Shane Wallace, VP of Global Sales, Dakine
How It Works
By allowing snow industry to trade in their gloves for a new pair of Dakine gloves featuring Gore-Tex, the program helps to bring warm gloves to local homeless shelters, youth sports programs, food banks, and rescue missions in the areas they are collected in. Once the gloves are traded in, they are examined and cleaned before being donated locally in the community. Gloves For Gloves allows the snowboard industry to experience the excellence of Dakinex Gore-Texgloves and help those in need stay warm throughout the winter months.

In addition to Gloves For Gloves, Dakine focuses on creating durable products, working with responsible manufacturers, plastic free packaging, and using biodegradable and environmentally friendly materials in their products.
“Giving just feels good, and growing Dakine’s Gloves for Gloves Program each year gives more gloves to those in need, and expanding the program to the public, will provide customers the opportunity to feel good by giving back.” – Nate Shute, Product Line Manager for Dakine at JR286.
By 2025, Dakine plans to make Gloves For Gloves a global initiative and expand donation opportunities to customers directly. Dakine is excited to partner with Gore-Tex to bring their gloves to members of the snowboarding community and share the warmth with members of local communities in need.
