Following reports of the electric bikes’ lithium-ion batteries overheating while charging, Pacific Cycle recalled the Ascend Cabrillo and Minaret electric bikes sold at Bass Pro and Cabela’s stores from January 2023 through November 2023 due to fire hazards in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
The company and the CPSC advise consumers to stop using the recalled ebikes, unplug and return them to Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s to receive a full refund or replacement Ascend Cabrillo or Minaret electric bike.
The recall involves e-bikes with a 13-digit serial number. Consumers can enter their serial number here and then hit submit. If you receive a “Recalled” result, please return your bike to Bass Pro or Cabela’s. If you receive the result “Not recalled,” you can continue to use and charge your bike without concern.
