According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lectric eBikes is contacting consumers about its e-bike mechanical disk brake calipers, which could cause riders to lose control and lead to injury.
The CPSC reported that 45,000 bikes need repair.
The CPSC received four reports of braking power loss, including two injuries.
Lectric eBikes asks consumers to stop using the bikes until the brakes have been repaired. The company is sending consumers free mechanical caliper repair kits and $100 toward repair costs.
