Dick’s Sporting Goods continues to expand the House of Sport brand and format with nine new locations celebrating grand openings in July and August. The stores join the first three House of Sport stores that opened in Victor, NY; Knoxville, TN; and Minnetonka, MN.

The new stores opened in the following cities:

  • Katy, TX, at The Shops at Park West
  • Baybrook, TX, at Baybrook Mall
  • Davenport, IA, at Davenport Commons
  • Champaign, IL, at Market Place Shopping Center
  • Chesapeake, VA, at Greenbrier Square
  • Fayetteville, NC, at Freedom Town Center
  • Latham, NY, at Latham Farms
  • Scranton, PA, at Viewmont Mall
  • Johnson City, NY, at Oakdale Commons

Dick’s kicked off grand openings for each store with weekend events for the local communities. House of Sport stores have an average size of approximately 100,000-plus square feet with in-store experiences including a climbing wall, multiple golf bays with TrackMan simulators, and multi-sport cages for baseball, softball, lacrosse, and soccer use and allow customers to try products while measuring and tracking their performance.

Some House of Sport locations have a playing field attached to the store for open play, clinics, league space, or for use as an ice rink in the winter.

“These grand openings have been a superb way to introduce the House of Sport store to our customers in these markets,” said Toni Roeller, SVP of in-store environment and visual merchandising at House of Sport. “It’s exciting that the feedback from customers has been so positive, and the communities see the stores as a destination. We’re equally excited about bringing House of Sport to more communities in 2024 and beyond.”

Dick’s anticipates opening between 75-to-100 House of Sport stores by 2027.
