Tentree reported it opened its first U.S. retail store in Washington, D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood at 1924 8th Street NW Washington, Suite 115.
“D.C. is the perfect first home for Tentree’s first U.S. retail store,” said Diana Seung, president of Tentree. “There is a vibrant tree equity and planting community in D.C. that we are excited to join and advocate for reforestation to fight climate change and restore our planet.”
Tentree’s worldwide planting projects can be found in the U.S., Canada, Madagascar, Kenya, and Indonesia. The brand’s “special” apparel lines are created to support wildfire restoration in the U.S. and Canada.
Since its founding in 2012, the purchase of Tentree products has supported the company’s mission to plant trees, with over 100 million trees planted to date, including kelp and coral. Tentree ensures the verification of its tree-planting efforts to ensure “long-term, positive change for the planet.” Tentree is certified Climate Neutral, and, in 2023, Tentree’s B Corp. ranking rose to 136.2, making it one of the top-ranking apparel brands.
“We know that people are seeking ways to incorporate protecting and improving the health of our planet, and at Tentree, we want to make that simple,” added Seung. “In addition to ensuring sustainable and responsible manufacturing and planting trees for each item purchased, consumers can either recycle or resell their unwanted clothing and earn credits to shop at Tentree through our circularity program.”
