Cycling Sports Group recalled certain Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed e-bikes in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The hand brakes do not meet U.S. safety standards—they do meet European safety standards, but those are reversed from the U.S. safety standards, posing fall and injury hazards to the riders.

The e-bikes have an electric assist motor with a horn, mirror, headlights, and brake lights. Cannondale is printed on the sides of the bike frame’s top tube and on the seat’s sides.

The e-bikes are gray with reflective accents on the frame, and the tires were sold in small, medium, large, and extra-large sizes.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled e-bikes and contact Cannondale for instructions on receiving a free repair. Cannondale is also contacting all known purchasers directly.

The bikes were sold at authorized Cannondale dealers nationwide in September 2022 for about $5,500.
