Blizzard-Tecnica hired ski industry veteran Topher Plimpton as the business unit director for North America for the U.S. and Canadian markets.
“Blizzard-Tecnica has been on an incredible ride over the last decade, experiencing year-over-year market-leading growth,” said Chris Licata, president & CEO of Tecnica Group North America. “The continued success of the brands is not only critical for the Tecnica Group North American subsidiaries but also the success of the Group globally. Topher’s proven leadership, depth of experience and passion for skiing make him the ideal person to effectively manage the business and maintain that upward trajectory.”
Plimpton is an accomplished skier who comes to Blizzard-Tecnica, having spent the last 11 years with Scott USA. Since 2016, he has worked as its business unit director, overseeing the brand’s winter sports and running categories, Dolomite footwear, apparel and packs, and Poivre Blanc apparel. Before 2016, he managed Scott’s marketing strategies targeting retail, consumers, trade, and athletes. The latter was how Plimpton initially landed at Scott, as a sponsored athlete who understood the business’ retail side through his experience as a salesman and ski tech for the Jackson Hole retailer, Teton Village Sports.
