Tim Clarke, president of Wilson Golf since 2007, has stepped down, according to mygolfspy.com. Global R&D director Bob Thurman has reportedly become interim golf general manager.
Clarke started his career with Wilson Golf in 1997 as a regional sales manager.
In 2019, a consortium led by China’s Anta Sports acquired Finland’s Amer Sports, which included Wilson, Salomon, Arc’teryx, Peak Performance, Atomic, and Suunto. In December 2022, reports arrived that Anta, and its co-investors, including private equity firm FountainVest Partners, were holding preliminary talks with investment banks for an IPO of Amer Sports that could raise $1 billion or more.
