Canadian Tire Corporation, Ltd. reported that same-store sales at its SportChek segment were down 1.7 percent in the fourth quarter while revenues of Helly Hansen grew 20.6 percent. Companywide, diluted earnings per share (EPS) in the fourth quarter was a record $9.09 while full-year diluted EPS was $17.60 a share.

In a statement, Canadian Tire said the SportChek segment saw gains in licensed apparel sales but they were offset by categories such as outerwear. SportChek’s total sales were down 1.6 percent over the same period last year.
